A healthy body begins with a healthy mouth

Here at Summit Dental, we strive to meet your needs with quality care wherever you are on your dental journey. Our goal is to help you attain the peak of health, starting with a healthy mouth. Now that's something to smile about!

A good dental care routine is really important to maintain a healthy mouth, including your gums and teeth.

It is important to brush your teeth at least twice daily to help remove plaque and food particles that get stuck to your teeth. It is recommended that you brush your teeth for two minutes (or longer), though most people rush through this time. You need to make sure that you reach every side of each tooth, including the inside and outside. To help keep your breath fresh, you should also brush your tongue. And let's not forget about everyone's favorite...flossing!

Preventative dental care is more than just brushing your teeth and flossing, though. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is equally important as this will also heavily influence your oral health. For more insights, see our Top 10 Tips for a healthy, vibrant smile.

Preventative Care

Teeth are like fingerprints. Every patients’ dentition is different, therefore every patients’ plan will be different. We offer a variety of different types of dental restorations depending on your specific needs. If you are missing teeth, we will discuss the multiple options to replace those.

Your first visit with us will be a thorough comprehensive exam where we will look at teeth, gums, soft tissues including the tongue and tonsils, as well as the joint and muscle health of your oral system. If any treatment is needed we will discuss options and come up with a plan specific to you and your needs.

Restorative Care

A beautiful smile is one of the most sought after features in cosmetic medicine. People from all backgrounds and professions want a white, straight smile, and we can help make it a reality.

Whether through minor adjustments or major changes, cosmetic dentistry aims to help people feel good about the way their teeth look. There are many procedures that can improve your teeth and correct issues such as discoloration, chips, gaps, or irregularities. In addition to cosmetic improvements, these procedures can help solve other oral problems as well.

These procedures vary in cost, complexity, and results. The condition of your teeth is a major factor in finding a treatment. We are here to discuss all the options with you to find the best solution for your unique situation.

Dr. Williams sees kids of all ages – from infants with tongue ties to teenagers moving into adult dentition and everyone in between. She looks at the teeth, oral development, tonsils, and airway. We do not offer sedation services, so if your child is in need of significant dental work, we have a wonderful referral source for you.

**Fluoride
I fully believe that fluoride is a positive tool used to prevent childhood cavities. The studies that are referenced when people talk about the negative effects of fluoride are in extremely high quantities not seen anywhere near the level we use in the dental office.

That being said, if you and your family choose not to use fluoride in your tooth paste or get fluoride application at the office you will not feel pressured to do so. That is a choice for you and your family to make. But I am happy to talk with anyone who has more questions about this topic.
