At Summit Dental, we accept most dental benefit plans. However, Dr. Williams is an “out-of-network” provider with all insurance companies. We will file your insurance for you and our front office team will work with you to maximize those benefits. They are happy to assist you with all the financial options we have for our patients for the services that are not covered by your benefit plan.
Dental xrays are a diagnostic tool we use to see the parts of the tooth that we can not see clinically with our eyes. More than 50% of the tooth is actually encased in bone or not visible due to being next to another tooth. We typically recommend most people have xrays once/year, however some people may require more or less frequent diagnostic imaging.
Your mouth is the gateway to your body! Ensuring that you have a healthy mouth, free and clear of disease, whether that be from tooth decay or gum disease, is an important key to overall health. Getting your teeth cleaned every 6 months ensures that you maintain a healthy oral cavity, and it allows Dr. Williams to find any problems while they are still small.
We understand that coming to the dentist can be an anxiety-inducing experience. But with that understanding, we make every effort to truly make you feel as comfortable as possible while you are here.
We offer nitrous oxide as an option to our anxious patients. Nitrous oxide is a safe gas that you breathe through your nose that acts to calm and relax you while you are in the dental chair. You do not need to have a driver if you use nitrous, as it clears from your system within minutes of turning it off.
Here at Summit Dental, your first visit with us is an important one. This is the visit where we will get to know one another, and find out your goals and desires for your oral health.
This first visit will consist of a full set of x-rays of your teeth, intraoral and extraoral photographs, a 3D xray that allows Dr. Williams to see your joints, nasal passages and airway. Once the diagnostic portion of the exam is complete, Dr. Williams with walk you through the information that was collected and discuss with you your goals moving forward.
It is important to note, that generally speaking your first visit will not include a dental cleaning. This appointment will be scheduled after Dr. Williams has had an opportunity to review your oral health and determine the best type of cleaning and schedule that works for you.
